Pere Relats Care Home in 22@ Barcelona is integrated within an office building in the city’s innovation district. The project adapts a concrete structure to accommodate a care home for older people, combining the urban character of the 22@ area with the need to create calm, domestic and person-centred living environments. With 96 places and 8 household units, the residence is organised around smaller living areas that help reduce the institutional feel of traditional care homes. The project transforms a dense urban building into a comfortable, functional and human-scale environment for older people.
