Too often, care homes and later-life environments fail to focus on what matters most: people.

Our experience, and our determination to change this, have made us a trusted reference in the sector.

Honest architecture that improves the lives of older people

We bring architecture for older people back to what truly matters, helping each project stand out for the right reasons. Because while many care homes have become standardised environments, we design places that feel like home.

Our Projects

We create unique spaces that are both viable and efficient. We believe in well-made architecture, and we make it possible through our own methodology: an approach that makes our work honest, distinctive and meaningful.

Our Projects

We do more than design care homes and spaces for older people. We design with sensitivity, vocation and commitment, together with you and with the older people who deserve to live later life fully and with dignity.

We create unique spaces that are both viable and efficient. We believe in well-made architecture, and we make it possible through our own methodology: an approach that makes our work honest, distinctive and meaningful.

Make your project stand out

More competitive

Set yourself apart with a clear value proposition. Build a place that feels like home in a sector where too many care homes have become too sterile to feel truly domestic.

More efficient

Because it is possible to find the right balance between what your project needs and what people need. Between being viable and being distinctive.

More financially viable

We understand the sector and its needs. That is why our proposals are designed to be fully viable, because we are as committed as you are to making the project happen.

Discover our methodology

1

Strategic approach

We carry out an in-depth assessment of the project in terms of size and capacity. The goal: to understand how many residents the project can accommodate, so that it remains viable while ensuring a high-quality service.

2

Functionality and viability

In this second stage, our main goal is to understand the specific needs of the project.

We define the spaces required for the home to operate efficiently, and how they should relate to one another.

3

Efficiency and low maintenance

We aim to minimise maintenance while ensuring a fully satisfactory experience for residents, staff and visitors. That is why we design every detail to create a better home for residents and a more pleasant place to work.

4

Thorough control, fewer errors

Finally, we monitor the construction process in detail to make it as smooth as possible, avoid setbacks and bring the project into operation as early as possible.

Our
story

Today, BTA has become a benchmark in architecture thanks to more than 27 years of experience and a lasting commitment to older people.

Marc Trepat, founder of BTA, was closely connected to architecture for older people from the beginning of his career. Combined with his extensive experience in residential design, this led him to understand the need to rethink how care homes were conceived. We visited leading international references, studied person-centred care models, and listened carefully to the needs of residents, staff and operators. From this process, we developed our own model: honest architecture, specialised in helping older people enjoy a fulfilling and dignified later life.

This journey has been made possible through an ongoing process of research and innovation. At BTA, we continue to explore new ways to improve people’s lives through architecture.
